A Deeper Dive

From Data Custodian to Data Steward The program begins with foundational governance concepts before progressing into enterprise lifecycle management, data quality architecture, integration frameworks, and compliance standards. Participants engage in scenario-based exercises addressing regulatory compliance, cross-system integration, data retention policy design, and technical debt remediation. Each participant concludes the program with a structured Data Governance Blueprint tailored to a real organizational context.

Challenge Statement

  • The “Current State” (The Data Chaos Problem): Across many African enterprises, data is collected aggressively but governed poorly. Systems are implemented rapidly, yet data quality deteriorates over time. Organizations face duplicate records, inconsistent reporting, and compliance vulnerabilities.
  •  The “Impact” (The Trust Deficit): When leadership cannot trust data, decision-making slows, compliance risk increases, and analytics initiatives fail. The absence of structured Data Ownership leads to costly remediation cycles and escalating technical debt.
  • The “Future State” (The Enterprise Data Steward): There is an urgent need to elevate professionals into Data Stewards who understand governance, compliance, and lifecyclecontrol. This accelerator bridges the gap between technical data handling and strategic enterprise governance.
